Con Nikolouzakis and Chris Siakos founded Exinda Networks, a privately held company based in Melbourne, Australia, to fulfill an unmet need in the marketplace for ensuring predictable performance of applications running on corporate wide area networks (WAN).  The aim was to optimize traffic on the corporate WAN, gain visibility into how the network is being used and help control network operating costs. 

December, 2005
Exinda received ZDnet's Technology & Business magazine's Editor's Choice Award for its Exinda 4700 appliance for ease of use and excellence in traffic monitoring and reporting. 

October, 2006
Exinda was recognized by Gartner as a significant vendor in the WAN optimization controller market when it included Exinda in its Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers (WOC) 2006 report. 

December, 2006
Exinda introduced its x800 appliances that accelerate applications in addition to optimizing network traffic.  Exinda also introduced its Unified Performance Management branding concept to differentiate its x800 appliances in the marketplace.

March, 2007
Exinda moved its headquarters from Melbourne, Australia to Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. to grow its North American operations.  Exinda also reached the important milestone of having served more than 1,000 customers in 35 countries around the world.  

April, 2007
Exinda completed its first found of equity funding of US $6 million from OpenView Venture Partners, a venture capital investment firm based in Boston.

May, 2007
Exinda was the first WAN optimization company to introduce a Software-as-a-Service, called Service Delivery Point, to centrally manage its appliances distributed throughout corporate networks from a single Web site. 

October, 2007
Exinda was awarded a contract from the Malaysia’s Government Integrated Telecom Network (GITN) for US $1.1 million as part of the Malaysian government's bandwidth management project that involves deploying Exinda wide area network (WAN) optimization appliances at more than 700 networked government sites over a two year period.

November, 2007
Exinda garnered worldwide media attention for its distinctive ability to detect and control recreational encrypted peer-to-peer traffic (YouTube, BitTorrent) to ensure predictable application performance on corporate networks. 

December, 2007
Gartner advanced Exinda’s position on its Magic Quadrant WAN Optimization Controller 2007 report.  Exinda moved from the sixteenth position on the quadrant to the tenth among all the vendors listed.

February, 2008
Exinda was one of only 10 companies to receive an award from VARBusiness for its Fast Track Channel Partner Program, which acknowledges IT vendors for its commitment and strength in vendor's partner programs.

April, 2008
